MILTON — Pvt.First Class Justin Burks, a 2016 Milton High alumnus, is stationed in Vilseck, Germany. While in the Republic of Georgia, he met Vice President Mike Pence.
Burks was recently deployed on a peacekeeping exercise across seven countries. Exercise Saber Guardian has taken him through the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria, and across the Black Sea to the Republic of Georgia for Exercise Noble Partner, according to his mother Shelly Burks.
Burks has wanted to be a soldier since he was 8 years old, Shelly says.
