Catching up with all-star volleyball player Haylee Watson

JAY — Haylee Watson is a senior at Jay High School and one of nine females in Santa Rosa County selected to join the 2017 Subway High School All-Star Volleyball team.

The Subway High School All-Star Series is a sequence of games between high school senior athletes from Okaloosa, Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. The main volleyball game is set Nov. 16 at the University of West Florida.

Haylee is also the female Wendy’s High School Heisman winner for Jay High School.

Here, we catch up with Haylee on making the all-star team, her everyday life and her aspirations.

How long have you been playing volleyball?

I have been playing volleyball for Jay High School for six years.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time I like to spend time with my family and friends.

Do you play any other sports?

I compete in weightlifting and I play softball.

How do you feel about making the Subway All-star team?

I am honored and excited to be a part of the team and to be able to represent Jay High School one final time.

What do you want to do as a career?

I would like to pursue a career in Athletic Training.

Do you plan on going to college?

I plan to attend [Pensacola State College] and [The University of West Florida].
