PACE — Authorities suspect vehicles racing on Highway 90 led to a fatal accident.
Darius Hunter, 30, of Pensacola was driving a Nissan east on Highway 90 at a high rate of speed, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report, when the vehicle approached another vehicle from the rear traveling in the inside lane.
As Hunter passed the slower vehicle, he left the roadway, according to the FHP report, which stated the car struck several trees and caught fire as it came to rest.
Authorities are currently seeking a dark colored sedan that possibly raced Hunter. They believe the two vehicles did not make contact.
