5 things to do this weekend in Santa Rosa County

1. GO TRICK-OR-TREATING. The Jay Chamber of Commerce will host Trick or Treat on Commerce Street 5-8 p.m. Oct. 27 in Jay. Trick or Treat booths will open at 5 p.m. and a kid’s costume contest will begin at 6:30 p.m. Contact Eric Seib at 686-6916 for more information on the event.

2. ENJOY LOCAL MUSIC. Bands on the Blackwater returns 7-9 p.m. Oct. 27 on South Willing Street for the final concert of the fall series. The outdoor concert series, held Friday nights in downtown Milton, is free to attend. You can pull up a boat or bring a lawn chair and relax while listening to music. This week’s featured band is Bad Juju.

3. WATCH A PLAY. The Panhandle Community Theatre will present ‘Murder in Green Meadows’ Oct. 27-29 at 4646 Woodbine Road. in Pace. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $15. The production is described as “a somewhat dark psychological thriller; the audience is left to ponder the meaning of friendship, happiness and trust.”

4. ATTEND A GHOST WALK. The Santa Rosa Historical Society will host the 17th annual Ghost Walk 6-9 p.m. Oct. 27 in downtown Milton. Tours will begin at the Imogene Theatre and leave approximately every 15 minutes. Tickets are $10 each for adults and $5 for children; kids younger than 5 or in a stroller enter free. 5. LEARN ABOUT MARINE LIFE. The Navarre Beach Marine Science Station will host the Science Spooktacular by the Sea event 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 28 at 8638 Blue Heron Court in Navarre. Participants will learn about "creeps of the deep," an endangered species cemetery, science that glows in the dark and other sea creatures. Cost is $5 per person; children under 2 enter free.
