MILTON — These library events are scheduled throughout Santa Rosa County.  

UPCOMING

PRESCHOOL STORYTIME: through Dec. 8 as follows. 

  • 11-11:30 a.m. on Mondays at the Jay Library
  • 11-11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays at the Navarre Library
  • 11:15-11:45 a.m. on Wednesdays at the Milton Library
  • 11:15-11:45 a.m. on Wednesdays at the Gulf Breeze Library
  • 11-11:30 a.m. on Fridays at the Pace Library

Storytime programs are for preschool children ages 3 through 5 and include stories, finger plays and action rhymes. Caregivers must remain in the library during storytime; however, they cannot accompany children into the programs. Visit www.santarosa.fl.gov/libraries for additional details.

THE INKLINGS: 5 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Milton Library, 5541 Alabama St. Students in sixth through 10th grade may discuss the book of the month. The group meets at 5 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month. October’s book is “The Giver” by Lois Lowry. Speak with a library staff member to sign up.

TODDLER TIME: 11 a.m. Oct. 11, 18 and 25 at the Navarre and Pace libraries. For children ages 18 to 36 months who attend with a caregiver. One child and one adult register together for songs, stories, rhymes and other activities. Space is limited. Call Youth Services Coordinator Margaret Chatraw at 981-4066 with questions.

PAGE TURNERS: 10:30 a.m. Oct. 13 at the Gulf Breeze Library, 1060 Shoreline Drive; This fiction book club meets at 10:30 a.m. on the second Friday of every other month. October’s selection is "The Whole Town's Talking" by Fannie Flagg. There is a limit of 20 participants, so call 981-7323 or visit the library to sign up.

STAR WARS READS DAY: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 16 at all libraries. Santa Rosa County libraries will have “Star Wars”-themed displays and activities. They will also show "Rogue One." This movie is rated PG-13. Contact your local library for more details.

FALL CRAFT: 10 a.m. Oct. 21 at the Pace Library, 4750 Pace Patriot Blvd. The Azalea Garden Club of Pace will present this program for youths in kindergarten through eighth grade. Make something for yourself or something you can put on or under a Christmas tree. All supplies will be provided. Space is limited to 15 participants. Registration is required.

FALL INTO FUN: 3 p.m. Oct. 31 at all libraries. Visit your local library to celebrate fall. Get ready for a family-friendly movie where Scooby and friends solve a mystery at a school for magicians. Costumes are encouraged. Snacks will be provided. Check the online calendar for details.

RECURRING

UF-IFAS EXTENSION: 10 a.m. every third Friday at the Gulf Breeze Library, 1060 Shoreline Drive. The University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences presents a monthly series on a variety of topics including agriculture, the environment, sustainable living, disaster preparation and recovery, 4-H youth development, family and consumer issues, and lawn and garden problems.

FRIENDS OF THE NAVARRE LIBRARY BOARD MEETING: 10 a.m. second Mondays of each month at the Navarre Library, 8484 James M. Harvell Road, Navarre.

REFRESHING READS BOOK CLUB: 3 p.m. first Tuesdays at the Jay Library, 5259 Booker Lane. See a staff person to sign up. This month's title is "The Marchmakers of Minnow Bay" by Kelly Harms.

FRIENDS OF THE GULF BREEZE LIBRARY BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING: 5:30 p.m. second Tuesdays at the Gulf Breeze Library, 1060 Shoreline Drive.

ANIMANGA CLUB: 4 p.m. third Tuesdays of each month, Gulf Breeze Library, 1060 Shoreline Drive. Bring your art; discuss techniques of drawing, cartooning, anime and manga, as well as your favorite titles and artists in those genres. Open to sixth- through eighth-graders.

GRAPHIC NOVEL BOOK CLUB: 5 p.m. third Tuesdays at the Milton Library, 5541 Alabama St. Members can suggest reading ideas, interests and discuss the world of the graphic novel.

BIBLIOBABBLERS TEEN BOOK CLUB: 6 p.m. on the last Tuesday of every other month in the Gulf Breeze Library’s meeting room, 1060 Shoreline Drive. Ninth- through 12th-graders who are 14 to 18 years old can discuss the read-of-the-month with friends.

COFFEE TALK BOOK CLUB: 6:30 p.m. second Wednesdays at the Gulf Breeze Library, 1060 Shoreline Drive. Call the library, 981-7323, to sign up.  

BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. second and fourth Fridays, Navarre Library, 8484 James M. Harvell Road.

FICTION FANATICS BOOK CLUB: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., fourth Saturdays except in May and November, at the Navarre Library, 8484 James M. Harvell Road. Sign-up is required.
