Florida man charged with grand theft auto, reckless driving

MILTON — Anthony Illuminato Andreu, 18, of Orlando is under arrest following a pursuit in Santa Rosa County by the Florida Highway Patrol. Authorities charged Andreu with grand theft auto, reckless driving, fleeing in attempt to elude, and driving without a valid license.

At approximately 10:56 a.m. Sept. 28, Andreu was driving eastbound on Interstate 10 in a 2009 Honda Accord, according to the FHP report, in a reckless manner.

Authorities also reported the vehicle stolen out of Escambia County.

An FHP Trooper attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

Andreu exited I-10 to State Road 87 and as he traveled north, he hit a concrete barrier wall and a sign then traveled a short distance before crashing into a ditch on the east shoulder.

Troopers apprehended Andreu attempting to flee the scene, according to the report.
