Milton High to host marching band festival

MILTON — The 2nd annual Blackwater Classic Marching Band Festival is Saturday, Sept. 30 at Milton High School’s Haywood Hanna Panther Stadium.

The event will feature 14 high school marching bands from Northwest Florida and Alabama. Gates open at 3:30 p.m. with performances beginning at 4 p.m. The event ends around 10:30 p.m.

General admission is $7 per person. Senior adults age 65 and older and active military personnel pay $5. Admission is free for children age 5 and under.

Bands scheduled to perform include:

  • Alabama Christian Academy — Montgomery, Ala.
  • Baker High School — Baker
  • Escambia High School — Pensacola
  • Foley High School — Foley
  • Gulf Breeze High School — Gulf Breeze
  • Holmes County High School — Bonifay
  • Jay Jr./Sr. High School — Jay
  • J.R. Arnold High School — Panama City Beach
  • Milton High School — Milton
  • Navarre High School — Navarre
  • Northview High School — Century
  • Satsuma High School — Satsuma
  • South Walton High School — Santa Rosa Beach
  • Trinity Presbyterian School — Montgomery, Ala.

The Milton High School Band Parent Association will sell food and beverages at the concessions stands. Items will include shish-ka-bobs, hamburgers, hotdogs and soft drinks.

Milton High School is located at 5445 Stewart St. The stadium is located on the west side of the campus.
