3 things to do this weekend in Santa Rosa County

1. LOOK AT CARS. Sandy and Bubba’s Milton Chevrolet will host a car show from 5-8 p.m. Sept. 15 at 5925 Highway 90 in Milton. The event is free to attend. There will be a 50-50 raffle, and all proceeds from the event will be donated to Santa Rosa Kids’ House. Call 626-8000 for more information.

2. ENJOY LOCAL MUSIC. Bands on the Blackwater returns 7 p.m. Sept. 15 on South Willing Street. The outdoor concert series, held Friday nights through Oct. 27 in downtown Milton, is free to attend. You can pull up a boat or bring a lawn chair and relax while listening to music. This week’s featured performer is The Dusty Sanderson Band.

3. AUDITION FOR A PLAY. The Panhandle Community Theatre will hold auditions 6 p.m. Sept. 15 and 9 a.m. Sept. 16 at 4646 Woodbine Road in Pace. The auditions will be held for the play "Misfit Toys," which will premiere Nov. 19. Performance dates are Nov. 19, 24 and 25, and Dec. 1, 2, 8, 10, 15, 16 and 17. The theatre will fill the following roles: Yukon Cornelius, played by a large male; Hermey the Elf, played by a small male; Dolly, played by a young female who can sing; Charlie in the Box, played by a thin male with a strong voice; King Moonraker, played by a male or female; Elephant, played by a male or female; Rudolph the Reindeer, played by two males; Clarice the Reindeer, played by two females; and dancing Christmas trees, played by two males or females. There are no lines to memorize; minimal rehearsal and costume fitting are required. Contact the theatre at 221-7599 if you are interested in auditioning.
