SEPT. 11 MEMORIAL: 8 a.m. Sept. 11 at Pace Assembly of God, 3948 Highway 90, Pace. Presented by the American Legion Post 78 of Milton. The event will begin with a reading of the timeline of the attacks. Email the American Legion at amleg@att.net to submit the name of a friend or relative lost in the attacks. There will be approximately 300 American flags placed at the event, each representing 10 of the roughly 2,977 victims. BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF THE EMERALD COAST’S 4TH ANNUAL STEAK & STAKE FUNDRAISING DINNER: Six-time Olympic medalist Jackie Joyner-Kersee will serve as the guest speaker for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast’s 4th Annual Steak & Stake fundraising dinner. The general admission seating will begin at 6 p.m. with the program to follow at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 21. VIP tickets are still available which will grant access to the VIP suite at 5 p.m. The Steak & Stake Dinner provides an opportunity for every guest, including donors, community partners and volunteers, to meet with and hear from the direct beneficiaries of their efforts — the club members. Youths sit at every table and have the chance to share their story of why Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast has a positive impact on their lives and what the Club means to them.
