MILTON — Regions Bank Financial Services Specialist Joshua Thomas spoke to the Sunrise Kiwanis Club on cyber security. Thomas said that paying bills online through the bank gives an extra layer of security. Data breach numbers were costly. The average cost of a breach involving fewer than 10,000 records was nearly $5 million while a breach of more the 50,000 records had an average cost of $13 million. The cyber security spending between 2017 and 2021 is expected to reach $1 trillion. Thomas also reminded everyone to always install the updates on computers and phones because they always include new security updates, and when not in use, keep all phones locked. Sunrise Kiwanis meets at 7 a.m. every Wednesday at Tanglewood Golf Course, breakfast included.
