GULF BREEZE — Authorities charged the driver of a white Toyota Rav 4, Clara Thomas, 72, of Gulf Breeze with failure to yield the right of way following an Aug. 2 accident in Gulf Breeze.

Joe Bates, 40, of Gravette, Ark. was driving a black Ford Explorer with four passengers, including two children, east on Highway 98, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report. Bates entered the intersection of Highway 98 and Nantahala Beach Road the same time Thomas, traveling west, was turning left.

Thomas did not have the right of way, according to the report, and Bates’ Ford crashed into the passenger side of Thomas’ Toyota. The crash disabled both vehicles.

First responders transported all occupants to the hospital for minor injuries.
