MILTON — These library events are scheduled throughout Santa Rosa County. 

ALIEN INVADERS: 1 p.m. Aug. 2 at Milton library, 5541 Alabama St. The Blackwater Heritage State Trail will present a program on invasive plants and animals that affect the ecosystem in Northwest Florida. This program is for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade.

SUMMER MOVIE AFTERNOONS: 4 p.m. Aug. 2 and 9 at the Milton library, 5541 Alabama St. Friends of the Milton Library will provide refreshments. Free.

NATIONAL CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DAY: 2 p.m. Aug. 4 at Navarre Library, 8484 James M. Harvell Road. There will be a reading of "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" and other cookie-related stories. The Friends of the Navarre Library will provide cookies for everyone.

FRIENDS OF THE GULF BREEZE LIBRARY BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING: 5:30 p.m. Aug. 8 at Gulf Breeze Library, 1060 Shoreline Drive. Board meetings take place at 5:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the Gulf Breeze Library. Visit www.facebook.com/friendsofgblibrary for more information.

FRIENDS OF THE PACE LIBRARY BOARD MEETING: 5:30 p.m. Aug. 8, 4750 Pace Patriot Blvd. Board meetings start at 5:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every other month, beginning with January, at the Pace Library. ERIC CARLE PARTY: 11:30 a.m. Aug. 9 at the Gulf Breeze library, 1060 Shoreline Drive. Kids ages 5 to 12 may hear a few stories by Eric Carle at the Gulf Breeze library. Arts and crafts will also have an Eric Carle theme. Friends of the Gulf Breeze Library will provide refreshments.

PAGE TURNERS: 10:30 a.m. Aug. 11 at the Gulf Breeze library, 1060 Shoreline Drive. The fiction book club meets at 10:30 a.m. on the second Friday of every other month. This month's selection is "Underground Railroad" by Colson Whitehead. There is a limit of 20 participants, so visit the library to sign up.
