FORT WALTON BEACH — Stage Crafters Community Theatre, Inc., Fort Walton Beach’s nonprofit theatre, will present “Steel Magnolias," featuring Gulf Breeze's Jennifer King, in August.
The action is set in Truvy Jones' beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana. The play moves toward tragedy when, in the second act, the spunky and diabetic Shelby risks pregnancy knowing she may lose her life. The sudden realization of their mortality affects the others but also draws on their underlying strength and love.
Melissa Wolf-Bates directs the play written by Robert Harling.
