PACE — The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the report of a K-9 unit biting a human.
“The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office is looking into a situation that took place July 2 in the home of a K-9 handler and partner,” ECSO Maj. Andrew Hobbs said in a statement. “An off-duty deputy had friends over. The K-9 bit a guest.”
Few details are available as of this writing, but the person bitten was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment, according to Hobbs’ statement.
"The ECSO took the K-9 and the handler off duty while the incident is being reviewed,” he said.
