Concerns about Jay Town Council

[Pixabay.com]

Dear editor,

I've carefully watched, since the beginning of this year, to see how our city council performs. They've spent money to have a special election on an issue that had been decided just a few months before.

When my husband went to City Hall to pay the water bill prior to the special election, they (allegedly) encouraged him to vote yes on the issue of appointing the town clerk rather than have an elected clerk. City employees should not coerce votes!

Council members have managed to attend just six meetings of the 12 that were scheduled.

I would gladly address these issues with the council if they could be bothered to form a quorum. Poor attendance at any other job would be grounds for dismissal.
