Santa Rosa students recognized

MILTON — Here are highlights involving area students: 

  • Makenzie M. Ervin and Laura C. Burford, both of Pace, made the dean’s list at Samford University. To qualify, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 10 credit hours of coursework.
  • Benjamin Naselius of Navarre has been named to the dean's list at Jacksonville State University. Full-time students earning a GPA of 3.5-3.99 are named to the dean’s list.
  • Maggie Renfroe, of Gulf Breeze, who majors in musical theatre, was among 1,920 students at Coastal Carolina University who made the spring 2017 dean's list. To qualify, freshmen must earn a 3.25 grade point average, and upperclassmen must earn a 3.5 grade point average. Coastal Carolina University is a liberal arts institution located in Conway, near the resort area of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
  • Elliott T. Williams IV, of Gulf Breeze, was named to the spring 2017 dean's list at Samford University. To qualify, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework.
  • Troy University’s local residents who graduated during Term 3 of the 2016-2017 academic year included Robert Carpenter of Navarre, Robin Milam of Gulf Breeze and Julio Nimbley of Navarre.
  • Dwayne Carter of Navarre is one of more than 900 graduates who received a diploma at Harding University's commencement exercises. Carter received a Bachelor of Business Administration in management.
  • Six hundred fifty-nine students graduated from Union University in Jackson, Tenn., during spring commencement services. Among them was Kaitlyn Lorianne Martin of Pace. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and Psychology.
  • Emily Schmidt, from Pace, graduated from Bucknell University, a private liberal arts university in Lewisburg, Pa.
