Milton High honors track and field athletes

The Milton High Track and Field program held a ceremony May 24 honoring its top performing athletes. Kneeling are Moise Calloway and Lindsay Patterson. MILTON — The Milton High School Track and Field program has honored its top performing students.

“The Top Performer award is like the team MVP,” Coach Joe Austin said. “The Will to Win award is for kids that have guts and heart. The Rookie of the Year is for first-year track members. The Most Improved (award) is for those who have improved most from the previous year. The medals are if someone qualified for regionals or state.”

Recognized student athletes include: 

  • Moise Calloway (Top Performer, District 1 3A Champion Long Jump, Regional Qualifier in Triple Jump, State Qualifier in Long Jump)
  • Lindsay Patterson (Will to Win Award, Qualifier in 4×100 and 4×400 relay)
  • Dakota Busbee (Regional Qualifier 4×100 relay)
  • Tristan Saterfield (Most Improved Athlete, District 1-3A Champion in Discus, Regional Qualifier in Shot Put and Discus),
  • Destiny Amos (Regional Qualifier 4×800 relay)
  • Becky Ward (Regional Qualifier 4×800 relay)
  • Logan Elliott (District 1-3A champion on 4×100 relay)
  • Reagan Melvin (Regional Qualifier in Shot Put and Discus)
  • Brianna Washington (District 1-3A Champion in Triple Jump, Top Performer, Regional Qualifier in Long Jump, Triple Jump, 4×100 relay, 4×400 relay, State Qualifier in Long Jump, Hall of Fame Award)
  • Sofia McLaughlin (Rookie of the Year, Regional Qualifier in 4×800 relay), Rachel Nation (Most Improved Athlete Award, Regional Qualifier in 4×800 relay, 4×400 relay)

  • Deionte Ganzy (Top Performer Award, District 1-3A Champion in the 4×100 relay and 200m,  Regional Qualifier in 100, 200, and 4×100 relay, State Qualifier in 200-meter, Hall of Fame Award), AJ Floyd (District 1-3A champion on 4×100 relay)
