MILTON — The Santa Rosa Board of County Commissioners has approved the list of 2017 local option sales tax projects.
Among these projects, there are two public safety projects, six transportation and drainage projects and five recreation projects. Three of the 13 projects take advantage of grant funding adding over $890,000 to the infrastructure investments proposed, according to the county.
The list is as follows.
Public safety:
• SRCFFA, to be executed through the Santa Rosa County Emergency Management Department: $155,150
• Addition of radio site in Navarre: $575,000
Transportation and drainage:
• Woodbine Road resurfacing, from Highway 90 to Pearl Ridge Road (approximately 4,600 feet): $348,954
• Hamilton Bridge Road sidewalk: $90,000
• Sweet Bay Bridge construction: $250,000
• Allentown Road resurfacing from Highway 87 to Central School Road: $606,815
• Edgewood Drive paving and shoulders: $1,080,000
• Settlers Colony Drainage Expansion Project design: $211,230
Recreation:
• Floridatown Park improvements: $125,119
• Optimist Park improvements: $230,000
• Chumuckla Park improvements: $150,000
• Navarre Sports Complex lighting: $87,000
• Tiger Point Park lighting: $87,000
The total cost of these projects is $3,996,268 and accounts for 65 percent of the anticipated fiscal year 2017 revenues, according to the county.
