Gulf Breeze clinic sets free child behavior classes

GULF BREEZE — Turning Point is offering free behavioral classes for parents. A board certified behavior analyst will teach classes from 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday from June 13 to Aug. 31 at the Turning Point clinic in Gulf Breeze, 3182 Gulf Breeze Parkway.

Turning Point is a clinic that works with children with autism, but its staffers have learned that there are parents and daycare workers who want to know some ways to handle kids who don't have autism but do have behavioral problems. Since insurance won’t cover therapy unless a child is diagnosed with autism, the organization wanted to teach classes to help parents learn ways to redirect a child with behavior problems.

Classes will cover basics of Applied Behavior Analysis, strategies to increase skills and strategies for behavior change.

Classes are free. Register by calling 932-8021 or 1-800-676-5130 or email begail@turningpointbehavior.com.
