MILTON — Santa Rosa County Federal Credit Union President Steve German recently presented Jane Simmons, the founder of Vision of Hope, with a check for $2,500.
The funds were raised by selling candy bars at the credit union's five locations.
"In addition to candy sells,” said German, “our staff donated their own money to bring the total to $2,500."
Vision of Hope is a non-profit organization that donates resources and time to teach intellectually disabled individuals life skills with a goal toward independent living. There is an emphasis on money management, mathematics and social skills. Its students also have their own band and garden, and they host monthly activity nights throughout the year.
