Milton band students sign scholarships

MILTON — Milton High School recognized 14 band members who earned scholarships..

These graduates, listed by name, school, instrument and area of study, were honored during the second annual College Band Signing Night on May 11: 

  • Quinton Boykins, Bethune-Cookman University, flute, nursing 
  • Destine Taylor, Bethune-Cookman University, clarinet, criminal justice 
  • Nicholas Carlson, Pensacola State College, percussion, engineering 
  • Leiah Gentry, Pensacola State College, French horn, neuropsychology with a minor in business 
  • Jeremy Marquardt, Pensacola State College, tuba, history 
  • James Slade, Pensacola State College, trumpet, computer science 
  • Trishna Patel, University of Florida, flute, medicine 
  • Ciera Kass, University of Southern Mississippi, trumpet, music performance 
  • Sage Michael, University of Southern Mississippi, trombone, music education 
  • Austen Nation, University of Southern Mississippi, trombone, music education 
  • Alexander Pomales, University of Southern Mississippi, clarinet, bachelor of arts 
  • Samuel Rowe, University of Southern Mississippi, alto sax, music education

 The recognition event opened with a performance by the Milton High Blackwater Beats Jazz Band, with Assistant Band Director Michael Schultz conducting.
