MILTON — Two Santa Rosa County students have earned bragging rights: their artwork was recognized at the April 21 Northwest Florida Art Competition and Show hosted by U.S. Congressman Matt Gaetz's office.

Carly Cromwell, a senior at Gulf Breeze High School who won first place in the competition, received two roundtrip airline tickets to Washington, D.C. for the National Congressional Art Competition Reception this summer. Her artwork will hang one year in the U.S. Capitol.

Cromwell also received a $500 gift card from Lou Donaldson, on behalf of local business TLC; a $100 gift certificate to Fish House; two Gulfarium passes; a signed and framed artwork print from local artist Cara Roy; and a custom frame for her artwork from the Marty Campbell Gallery in Pensacola.

She also received a Nautilus Scholarship to the University of West Florida from Interim Vice President for University Advancement Meredith Brunen. This scholarship is a one-time, $3,000 award contingent on her successful admission to UWF.

Clarissa Vidaurri, a senior at Milton High School who achieved an honorable mention, received a $25 gift certificate to Fish House and two Gulfarium passes. She also received a note card set from local artist Cara Roy.
