Pro golfers present Milton High benefit

MILTON — Santa Rosa Medical Center, Boo Weekley, Heath Slocum and Bubba Watson will present the TPC Golf Tournament benefiting Milton High School’s sports programs.

Registration begins 10:30 a.m. with a noon shotgun start April 29 at Tanglewood Golf Club, 5916 Tanglewood Drive, Milton.

Lunch and drinks will be available on the course; dinner will follow the tournament.

Participants achieving the longest drive and the shot closest to the pin will receive prizes.

The entry fee for teams of four is $300; it includes 18 holes of golf, use of a cart, one mulligan and one red tee buster per player.

“Currently, Boo Weekley, Heath Slocum and Bubba Watson play on the PGA Tour and we are so excited to have them as sponsors of this tournament,” an MHS media release states. “All three have had tremendous PGA careers, highlighted by Bubba Watson’s two Masters Victories. Weekley has three tour victories and was … on the winning Ryder Cup Team in 2008. Slocum has won four times on tour and has amassed over $15 million in career earnings.

“… With the support of our professional golfers as well as our community, we have been able to supply thousands of dollars in scholarship money to help qualifying seniors continue their education in college. Players and sponsors participating in this tournament will enhance the education of our senior golfers.”
