Survey: 63 percent of Santa Rosa residents want new courthouse

PENSACOLA — A recent study from the Haas Center at the University of West Florida gauges Santa Rosa County residents’ sentiment regarding the county courthouse.

Among the survey’s findings:

  • 63 percent of those surveyed said they believe the county needs a new courthouse.
  • 49 percent of participants said the new courthouse should be located within Milton city limits.

Respondents were divided on how the county should pay for the courthouse. No funding method received support from more than 23 percent of those surveyed.

Santa Rosa County did not hire the Haas Center to conduct the survey.
