MILTON — West Florida volunteers can aid these upcoming cleaning efforts:
- Feb. 4: Ocean Hour will clean Naval Live Oaks National Park on the first Saturday of every month. Naval Live Oaks Headquarters is on Highway 98, about 2 miles east of Gulf Breeze, on the right. Sign in at 8:45 a.m.; clean up from 9-10 a.m.
- Feb. 11: Pensacola Scenic Highway Foundation, Earth Ethics and Ocean Hour will clean two sites the second Saturday of every month: Bay Bluffs Park — on Scenic Highway at Summit Boulevard — and Chimney Park on Scenic Highway at Langley Avenue. Sign in at 8:45 a.m.; clean up from 9-10 a.m.
- Feb. 18: Ocean Hour will clean two areas the third Saturday of every month: Project Greenshores is at the Three Mile Bridge and Bayfront Parkway, 745 Bayfront Parkway. Sign in at 8:45 a.m.; clean up from 9-10 a.m. The second location is Bartram Park, 211 Bayfront Parkway, Pensacola (behind the Fish House).
- Feb. 25: Ocean Hour will clean Fort Pickens National Park, at the end of Fort Pickens Road on Santa Rosa Island, on the fourth Saturday of every month. Exact locations vary from month to month so see http://www.facebook.com/oceanhourfl or www.oceanhourfl.com for updated information. Tell the guard at the gate that you are with Ocean Hour, and you can pass through free of charge. Sign-in is at 8:45 a.m.; clean-up is from 9-10 a.m.
Volunteers should dress for the weather and bring water, bug spray and sunscreen as needed. Buckets, grabbers, gloves and trash bags will be supplied.
