Dear editor,
Happy New Year 2017! Thank you to all the volunteers and sponsors who donated their time, talent and/or dollars to help support the mission of Caring and Sharing of South Santa Rosa County: Thanksgiving & Christmas Distribution 2016.
In life, sometimes we experience struggles and need a bit of assistance; it is when those times occur that the goodness of others, like Caring and Sharing, are there to help.
Caring and Sharing of South Santa Rosa County is a non-profit, 100 percent volunteer service organization. During this past holiday season, the non-profit’s Thanksgiving and Christmas food and toy distribution came and went with great joy and giving to over 200 families.
Caring and Sharing is a seasonal non-profit support program that is blessed with many giving hearts who enjoy the true meaning and spirit of togetherness and helping others. Many volunteers gave of their time by holding food and toy drives; others spent hours carting food to and from, and filling food boxes at West Navarre Intermediate School in November, and Oriole Beach Elementary School in December.
Many helpers packaged up charitable offerings to brighten the holidays for the organization’s clients. This community has so many hard- working volunteer groups, including local churches, businesses, schools, clubs and individuals, who all made a huge difference in supporting their neighbors over the holidays.
The words ‘thank you’ always seem to fall short to accurately express how grateful the organization is to everyone who helped. It doesn’t happen without elves like the WNIS students and scout groups who wrote heartfelt well-wishing notes which were tucked away in the client’s food boxes. Or the Gulf Breeze, Navarre and Pensacola Beach churches, and the Iron Order Motorcycle Club of Navarre, just to name a few. Plus, many others who join in every year — thank you, thank you, thank you!
It is because of all of you that the non-profit is in its 38th year, and continues to support local families of which this past year included 367 adults and 444 teens, children and infants from South Santa Rosa County. Over 800 individuals received Caring and Sharing services to make it a holiday season to remember.
Best wishes for a healthy and happy new year,
