The Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office has identified the victim of an overnight stabbing in the Navarre area as 18-year-old Daniel Jebadiah Lee Bubanas.
According to a morning news release from SRSO, at approximately 10:45 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to a disturbance in a wooded area near River Birch Road.
Information received indicated a possible stabbing had occurred, according to the release. When deputies arrived on scene, a victim from a stabbing was found dead, which now has been determined to be Bubanas. Also found was another stabbing victim, who was alive and transported to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries. That person's name has not been released by authorities.
According to SRSO, information gathered by deputies suggested there had been a large gathering of people in the area when the stabbing occurred. In a Saturday afternoon release to update the incident, SRSO noted that over 50 individuals have been questioned during the course of the investigation to this point. Detectives also have spoken to an unspecified number of "persons of interest."
