GULF BREEZE — Gulf Breeze Police seek information on a woman who allegedly robbed a senior citizen at a CVS Pharmacy parking lot.
A woman, described as white, asked a female senior citizen for directions around 3:40 p.m. Dec. 7 at 225 Gulf Breeze Parkway. She then hugged the senior citizen and allegedly shoved her to the ground while snatching her purse.
The woman then escaped with a white man driving a charcoal Ford F150, with a child in the backseat, the Gulf Breeze Police Department stated in a Facebook post. The truck's license plate appeared covered or missing.
Investigators believe their case has a connection to a Dec. 6 Gulfport, Miss., robbery.
In Gulfport, around 3:45 p.m., officers responded to the 9300 block of Highway 49 in reference to a robbery. The victim said she was standing near her vehicle when an unknown person shoved her to the ground and took her purse. The victim described the suspects as a white male and white female driving a gray Ford F150 extended-cab truck. The vehicle was last seen traveling west toward Highway 49.
Gulfport Police Department Public Information Officer Joshua Bromen said they are looking into the Gulf Breeze robbery for possible connections, but due to higher holiday crime rates and the popularity of the vehicle, no connections are certain.
Gulf Breeze Police Department Investigator Greg Baker said the department feels these crimes are related due to the similarity of the crime, the suspects and the vehicle.
"We feel it's a very good chance both are (the same)," Baker said.
Call the Gulf Breeze Police, Investigations Division, 934-5121, with any information on the vehicle or occupants.
