NAVARRE — Navarre Beach Marine Science Station will install a live streaming underwater HD camera at Navarre Beach Gulf Snorkel Reef.
The camera is part of a Santa Rosa County Tourism Office grant awarded to Northwest Florida Marine Education and Discovery of Gulf Ecosystems Inc., the non-profit organization supporting Navarre Beach Marine Science Station.
“We recently received the IMPACT 100 Pensacola Bay Area grant for a traveling ‘Discovery Depot’ that will showcase the reef camera as one of the exhibits," Charlene Mauro, director of the Navarre Beach Marine Science Station, said.
The station has worked with View Into The Blue for almost three years to complete installation of a self-cleaning, underwater camera, which will begin the week of Dec. 5.
The camera will offer viewers an opportunity to explore the artificial reef with a 360-degree view of the offshore structures. Visitors will be able to view the live streaming video from any web-enabled device.
