According to a Santa Rosa County Sheriff's report, deputies arrested Norman McKoy Self, 29, of Milton for battery, false imprisonment, and obstructing justice. Currently he is out on a $6,000 bond.

The incident began at the Santa Rosa Hospital, according to the report, where the battery already occurred. The deputy made contact with the victim, Self's ex-girlfriend, who said Self had beaten her up. She told the deputy they had been living together at the time of this incident.

According to the victim, Self accused her of stealing a bottle of whiskey. After denying it, she told the deputy he punched her twice, in the face splitting her lip and in the ribs dropping her to the floor. She tried to leave, but Self blocked the door she told the deputy. According to the report, she left by a side door but was unable to call 911 since Self had both of her phones.

The report went on to say she went to a neighbor's apartment, begged entry, but Self made it inside as well. The victim told the deputy Self dragged her out of the apartment, took her back to theirs, and continued assaulting her by throwing her around the kitchen. According to the victim, when Self was finished he left the apartment with a friend.
