With Trump's election, are the end times near?

(Special to the Press Gazette)

Dear editor,

So, why would someone with no political background be elected head of the government?

And why would someone with no military background be elected to be commander-in-chief of the U.S. military?

I think it’s partly because he said he was better than the 16 other Republican establishment candidates for president, and he proved it.

Also, he said he was smarter than the current American military generals and is now their boss. I’m sure Mr. Trump will show them how this will work in the near future as he tells them how to deal with current world crises including ISIS.

As we move toward Inauguration Day, we are beginning to see the brilliance of his picking the team that will run America. Certainly, they are mostly anti-establishment as voters would have hoped, and they would have been quite illogical picks based on their governmental experience and our knowledge of past political establishment practices.

It looks like about 60 million voters see Trump as America’s best hope for a better future. Trump voters want action! Trump voters want instant gratification! Trump voters want change! Trump voters want new trade deals now, controlled borders now, more jobs now, safer streets now, cut through all the red tape now, get rid of the $21 trillion national debt now.

Good news: God is in charge and He is allowing Mr. Trump to take on the mantel of ruling America — and we need to honor this perception.

(Finally,) I want to say that the biblical book of Revelation says the end times will be ushered in by the sound of the first Trump/Pence (or was that trumpets).
