Tax collector returns unspent revenue

MILTON — Every year since taking the office of tax collector in 2009, Stan Colie Nichols has given back unspent revenue to various Santa Rosa agencies and taxing authorities.

This year, Nichols gave back unspent revenue totaling $772,591.72.

“It is such a great county in terms of local history and heritage combining with the great people who call Santa Rosa their home,” Nichols said. “It is an honor to present this money back every year.”

Here is a breakdown of money returned to each taxing authority:

Board of County Commissioners: $755,486.75

Holley/Navarre Fire District: $5,185.44

Avalon Fire District: $1,908.74

Midway Fire District: $8,882.63

Northwest Florida Water Management District: $1,128.16
