PACE — The Mary Stewart Fortune Fun Run will benefit repairs, additions and improvements to Benny Russell Park’s playground.
The event is Dec. 3 with 8 a.m. registration at the park. The fun run starts 9 a.m. Post-run activities include an awards ceremony, a jump house, concessions and pictures with Santa Claus.
Participants also can register at active.com. Early registration, by Nov. 18, costs $25 per adult and $15 for kids 12 and under. Registration Nov. 19 and later costs $30 per adult, $20 for kids 12 and under. T-shirts will be provided to preregistered participants.
In 2001, Mary Stewart Fortune was the driving force that led to Benny Russell Park’s creation. She died from brain cancer in June 2015. The annual fun run was named in her honor.
