JAY — A Jay woman is dead following a Sept. 29 traffic accident.
Katlynn Hobbs, 15, was driving eastbound in a 2007 Chevrolet Colorado with passenger Allison Hobbs on County Road 182 in Jay, according to a Florida Highway Patrol media release. Robert Kanning III was following in a 2007 Dodge Ram.
Hobbs slowed to make a left turn without using a signal, according to the release. Kanning reportedly changed lanes to pass. As Hobbs turned left, Kanning hit the left side of the Colorado, causing it to overturn and come to rest on its tires.
First responders pronounced Allison Hobbs dead on the scene, the release stated.
Alcohol was not involved and seat belts were in use, according to FHP. Charges are pending.
