MILTON — Six million additional residents will call Florida home by 2030, requiring an additional 2 million jobs.

Is Santa Rosa County ready for its role in these imminent changes?

To prepare for such growth, and to ensure future success, Florida requires a plan that develops high-wage jobs, diversifies the economy and supports global competitiveness while creating vibrant communities, according to a Florida Chamber Foundation media release.

Through a series of interactive town hall events across the state, the foundation's two-year research program will engage business and community leaders in identifying key trends and factors that can drive regional economies.

The West Florida Regional Planning Council and the Florida Chamber Foundation will hold a public meeting and discussion on this topic from 2-5 p.m. Oct. 11 in room 4902 at Pensacola State College, 5988 US-90 in Milton.
