Central School art teacher Margie Ingram is The Dragonfly Gallery’s August Artist of the Month.

MILTON — An art teacher is The Dragonfly Gallery’s August Artist of the Month.

Margie Ingram, who teaches art at Central School in Milton, was born in Brewton, Alabama.

“I took an interest in art at an early age and enjoyed being creative,” she said. “After I graduated high school I went to college at Jeff Davis Jr. College and transferred to the University of South Alabama to earn my Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. I love working with children so I decided to go into education and start teaching art.”

Ingram and her high school sweetheart, whom she married, raise three children. She enjoys drawing and painting animals and landscapes, and creating jewelry representing sea animals from polymer clay. She volunteers at the Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center and the gallery.

You can see Ingram's art on display 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays at The Dragonfly Gallery, 6815 Caroline St., Milton.
