UPDATE: Santa Rosa victims in possible murder-suicide identified

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible murder-suicide that left two people dead Friday night. Lawmen have identified the victims. 

Brandon Hayes Hammett, 36, and Stacy Marie Williams, 33, died in what may have been a murder-suicide, according to an SRSO media release.

Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible murder-suicide that left two people dead Friday night.

According to a SRSO news release, deputies were dispatched to the 1200 block of Chumuckla Highway in Jay at 10:15 p.m. Friday for an escalating domestic disturbance. Upon their arrival, an adult male and adult female were found inside the house with severe gunshot wounds.

One of the people found was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other died later at an area hospital.

Major Crimes detectives for SRSO were actively investigating the incident Saturday.

The release said SRSO is working the case as a possible murder-suicide.
