MILTON — Milton will soon unveil its new website, Miltonlocal.com.
The city’s main website, Miltonfl.org, features municipal updates and bill payment, but the new site is designed with new residents, such as those who transferred to Naval Air Station Whiting Field, in mind.
“It’s more of an informational visitors website for the city,” City Manager Brian Watkins said. “It will give you information on what’s going on and what is happening.”
A link to Miltonlocal.com — which goes live Wednesday — will be provided on Miltonfl.org, a portal for various city departments and services, information on public meeting dates and times, and utility bill payment.
Public Information Officer Pamela Holt hopes the website will offer more after its launch.
For instance, in the future, the site will have a business spotlight, Holt said, “featuring our city businesses and what they bring to our community.”
In addition, Holt said the website will feature written material highlighting projects and events happening within city limits.
“We have things that are happening in the community that people need to know,” she said.
Some examples include the latest developments with the city’s police and fire departments.
Holt said the website also will feature a blog along with area demographics and information about public schools and economic development.
