Registration books closing for primary election

MILTON — Santa Rosa County Supervisor of Elections Tappie A. Villane reminds voters that registration books will close at 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1.

That is the last day to register to vote or change party affiliation for the Aug. 30 Primary Election.

Florida law mandates registration books close 29 days before an election. New registrations must be completed on or before the end of the business day on Aug. 1 for them to be effective for the Aug. 30 election.

Regular business hours for the Supervisor of Elections office in Milton, 6495 Caroline St., are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The South Service Center office, 5841 Gulf Breeze Parkway in Gulf Breeze, will be open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. starting July 25.

Address changes can be made after the books close. If you are unsure of your registration status, visit www.votesantarosa.com and click on "My Registration Status."
