Kiwanis members learn about beautification, hurricanes

Santa Rosa Sunrise Kiwanis member Walt Reece, retired military and community volunteer, spoke for the Kiwanis meeting at Tanglewood Golf Course. Keep Florida Beautiful recently recognized his 35-year commitment to Adopt A Waterway, the Blackwater River, and Reece was asked to present the award he received in Sarasota. Reece also spoke about his military service and the responsibility he had when he was in charge of Hurricane Reconnaissance, flying into the center of hurricanes to report strengths and directions. Santa Rosa Sunrise Kiwanis’ meetings are 7 a.m. Wednesdays at Tanglewood Golf Course. Breakfast is served to all.
