Back-to-school immunizations scheduled in Santa Rosa County

MILTON — Children must be up-to-date with their immunizations to attend school, which begins Aug. 15.

The Florida Department of Health in Santa Rosa County offers vaccinations on a walk-in basis at all three clinic locations.

Clinic hours through Aug. 15 are as follows:

Milton clinic:

●8-11:30 a.m. and 1-3:30 p.m. July 25 and 28, 5527 Stewart St., Milton

●8-11:30 a.m. and 1-3:30 p.m. Aug. 1 and 4

●8-11:30 a.m. and 1-5 p.m. Aug. 8 and 11

●8-11:30 a.m. Aug. 12

Midway clinic

●8-11:30 a.m. and 1-3:30 p.m. July 26, 5840 Gulf Breeze Parkway, Gulf Breeze

●8-11:30 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. Aug. 2

●8-11:30 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. Aug. 9

Jay clinic: 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 3, 14122 Alabama St., Jay

Students entering the seventh grade must prove that they have received the Tdap vaccine (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis). 

Children over age 4 who are entering pre-kindergarten or kindergarten must have completed their four-year-old shots. 

Children entering Florida schools for the first time are also required to have a physical.

Immunizations are free for children through age 18.  Parents should bring a copy of their child’s shot record with them to the clinic.

School physicals are also available, by appointment, for $55 at the Milton and Midway clinics.
