Bushwacker 5K to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida

PENSACOLA — The Capt’n Fun Runners will present the annual Capt’n Fun Bushwacker 5K Run on Saturday, Aug. 6.

The 3.1-mile race — beginning 7:30 a.m. at the South Santa Rosa Recreation Center on Shoreline Drive in Gulf Breeze and finishing on Pensacola Beach at the Quietwater Beach Boardwalk — benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida.

Registration costs $25 through July 30; $30 through Aug. 5. Register at www.werunwild.com or mail registration forms to Running Wild, 3012 E. Cervantes St., Pensacola, FL 32503. Registration forms are also available at www.captnfun.net or at Running Wild.

Packet pick-up will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4 at Running Wild; 4-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5 at Capt’n Fun Beach Club, Pensacola Beach; and 6-7 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6 at Bamboo Willie’s Deck on Quietwater Boardwalk.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida provides mentors for children facing adversity. In 2014-2015, the organization served over 635 children in Northwest Florida.
