MILTON — The Florida Highway Patrol seeks information on a Cantonment man believed involved in a May hit-and-run that left a senior citizen and a Pace 6-year-old injured.
Colby Chase Myrick, 25, allegedly drove the 1996 Dodge Ram that FHP officials seized while investigating a reported May 31 hit-and-run.
That day, around 3:55 p.m., Myrick allegedly was traveling northbound on Wegner Avenue as he approached Mintz Lane. Elizabeth Harris, 71, of Cantonment, was traveling eastbound on Mintz Lane in a 2013 Toyota Avalon, according to an FHP media release.
The Ram entered the intersection through a yield sign and the vehicle’s front reportedly struck the Avalon’s right side. The Avalon left the roadway onto the northeast corner of the intersection, and its front struck a concrete table and landscaping at 302 Wegner Ave.
The Ram’s driver fled the scene northbound on Wegner Avenue, according to the FHP report, which stated the Avalon finally rested facing north in the yard of 302 Wegner Ave.
FHP officials have an active warrant for Myrick on these charges:
●Leaving the scene of a crash with property damage
●Driving while license revoked – habitual
●Reckless driving with injuries
●Driving while license expired more than six months
●Tampering with evidence
Myrick also was cited for failure to report a crash and failure to provide insurance in a crash.
FHP also seeks the Ram’s owner, Priscilla Plott, for allegedly permitting an unauthorized person to drive.
