PENSACOLA — Grocery shopping is about to get even easier for Pensacola shoppers.
In response to customer demand, Walmart plans to double the amount of stores in the Pensacola area offering its online grocery pickup service.
In June, Walmart launched the service at two local stores — 4965 Highway 90, Milton and 2650 Creighton Road, Pensacola. Two additional stores will join in offering the free service starting July 13.
Walmart’s online grocery service will be available at these Pensacola-area stores starting July 13:
●9360 Navarre Parkway, Navarre
●8970 Pensacola Blvd., Pensacola
These stores join more than a dozen other Florida stores in offering online grocery pickup, including locations in Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Naples, Orlando, Tampa and West Palm Beach.
“Our customers have told us that grocery pick-up is a game changer, and due to its recent success in the Pensacola area, our customers will have access to this new service at even more locations,” Phillip Keene, director of communications at Walmart.
“Now, even more of our customers are able to complete their grocery shopping in a matter of minutes — between errands or on their way home from an after school activity — without even unbuckling their seat belts.”
Walmart’s grocery pickup service features 30,000 items, with 90 percent of customers choosing to add fresh meat, dairy or produce to their baskets.
Other top items selected by grocery pickup shoppers include after-school snacks, diapers and large dog food bags. All items are priced at the same prices customers find in their local Walmart store.
Grocery pick-up is one of the latest digital innovations to launch by Walmart in the Sunshine State.
In June, Walmart expanded mobile payment access for Florida customers with the launch of Walmart Pay — a fast, secure way for customers to pay with their smartphones in each of the more than 300 Walmart stores in the state.
