PENSACOLA — A member of the United States Submarine Veterans Inc. Drum Base who has earned the designation "Qualified in Submarines" at least 50 years ago will be honored in a formal ceremony to recognize his service.
The event will take place 11:30 a.m. July 9 at Bonefish Grill, 5025 N. 12th Ave., Pensacola. All qualified submariners may to attend.
The Holland Club — named after John P. Holland, designer of the first U.S. Navy submarine — is an exclusive group within the U.S. Submarine Veterans organization.
USSVI is a national organization made up of active, retired and veteran submariners with over 12,800 members who have qualified to wear the dolphin insignia (Undersea Warfare Badge).
