SPEAK OUT: Feeding the hungry, No need for assault rifles

MILTON — Here are the latest calls we received on Santa Rosa County and Milton area issues.

ALCOHOL IS HERE TO STAY

This is Tony the critic. Personally, I’m not a drinker but I noticed a lot of comments about alcohol and not needing it here … The county went wet several years ago so it’s here to stay. I don’t understand why you’re complaining. It’s not going to change anything. It’s here.

WE DON’T NEED ASSAULT RIFLES

Really, we don’t’ need assault rifles in anybody’s home or anybody’s hands. Get a gun if you need one; just be careful and don’t have to use it for anybody for no reason. I just pray people use things like that wisely for some reason but just not to hurt somebody.

THE CATHOLIC CHURCH SHOULD HELP THE HUNGRY

Yes, I just want to say by the Catholic religion like I am, that the pope really is not doing anything to help these people with hunger and clothing and go to a safer place where they don’t get attacked by anybody … But I know the Catholic church has enough money to stop the hungry in the world, or they should. That is why Pope John  II said it, and it’s true. We are very rich people in the Catholic Church and need to use some money to feed the poor in the world and get rid of all these people doing so much harm to other people.
