PENSACOLA — The Pensacola Civic Band has awarded four Summer Band Camp Scholarships.
Among the recipients is Sydney Bates, a Milton High School student attending the Double Reed Camp at Stetson University
Each December, the band earmarks a portion of its proceeds for scholarships. To date, the band has provided more than $50,000 in scholarship assistance to local students, according to a media release.
The Pensacola Civic Band is directed by Pensacola State College Performing Arts Chair Don Snowden and is composed of more than 90 members.
