MILTON — Milton’s 394 seniors turned their tassels and received their diplomas Tuesday night.
Many graduates said they look forward to college or the military. Beyond that, some wanted to see the world, or make a play for the NFL. Others said they had no idea what was coming next.
During commencement, each of the four student speakers thanked their families and faculty, and shared inspirational messages.
Salutatorian Hannah Green said MHS graduates should remember, “You came from this small but mighty town called Milton.”
Nicolas Burch, after noting the importance of family — with his coming from Guam for the event — and the school’s 100-year age, said, “You can’t change anything if you don’t change yourself.”
Chris Tassin expressed pride for the whole graduating class and said, “Whether you go to the military, college or something else, your success depends on your attitude.”
Finally, Valedictorian Sarah Courey mentioned the stress she felt over the 1,380 days since she first stepped on Milton’s campus as a freshmen.
She talked of the way MHS will continue to see new students come through its halls and said, “The next class will be better — but so will you.”
