Milton Street and Sanitation Supervisor Randy Hoyt's patience and kindness with a lost senior citizen earned him a nomination for city employee recognition.
On April 8, Hoyt helped a woman locate her house by way of a water tower she recalled as being close to her residence, and he escorted her home.
"City customers will be grateful," the nominating employee wrote, "for the extra effort that Randy — who, despite the challenging situation — demonstrated (with) genuine empathy for her age and state of confusion."
The council and Mayor Wesley Meiss congratulated Hoyt and thanked him for his concern.
