PENSACOLA — Dr. George J. Arcos has joined Pain Consultants of West Florida’s medical staff.
Arcos — who has over 25 years’ experience in the field — has won “The Compassionate Physician Award” and “The Patient’s Choice Award,” accolades bestowed by patients he has served.
Arcos is listed in the “Leading Physicians of the World,” a list limited to the top 1 to 2 percent of all physicians. He is a member of the editorial board of the internationally recognized professional journal “Pain Physician,” and has been elected to leadership positions in state pain societies and served on the board of directors of Florida Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.
He is board-certified in anesthesiology with a subspecialty qualification in pain medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology. He was also selected as a Fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Anesthesiologists.
Arcos completed a two-year military training program in pain medicine, and was awarded the United States Air Force Commendation Medal for contributions in the area of pain management.
He has held faculty appointments at Florida State University College of Medicine, University of Florida College of Medicine, Nova Southeastern University of Health Sciences and University of Miami School of Medicine.
